Shepherd is a Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod. The congregation is small and friendly. During the winter months there is one service, held at 10:30 am, Sunday School is at 9:00 am. In the summer,(from Memorial day to Labor day), an early outdoor service is added at 8:30 am, and it is held in the new pavilion behind the church. This moves our Sunday School and Bible study to 9:30 am. Many times the area deer visit that service. Every Sunday the congregation meets in the fellowship hall after the late service for light snacks and fellowship. There is a potluck dinner at that time the first Sunday of each month.

During Lent and Advent there are Wednesday night services, preceded by soup suppers. On Easter, there is an early morning sunrise service. The Christmas Eve service is a traditional candlelight worship.
