We pray that everyone who is a disciple of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church will take seriously their gifts, part and Responsibility:
1. To WORSHIP our God as frequently as possible.
Worship is giving praise and thanks to God for our lives and every blessing given to us. Worship does not
mean being an inactive participant simply there to be entertained or to be critical of others. We worship
together for strength and renewal to get through our everyday lives. Worship is "worth ship."
We declare worth. God is worthy of our worship (Revelation 4).
2. To take Holy Communion regularly, "do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me." (1Cor. 11:25)
3. To grow spiritually by reading the Bible daily!
4. To grow spiritually by praying regularly.
5. To assume the responsibility of service in the area of your spiritual gifts.
6. To practice good Christian stewardship.. .in all areas, of time serving our Lord by taking the time to do so, of
talent - serving with your unique abilities and gifts, of treasure - serving our Lord, returning to Him what He
has given to us.
7. To develop Christian friendships within the congregation that are God-pleasing. As Christians we are to love
one another, "And this is His command: to believe in the name of His Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one
another as He commanded us." (1 John 3:23) "Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is
love." (1 John 4:8). Friendships are to be centered in Christ - no backstabbing or hypocritical behavior, eyes
and behavior focused upon Jesus as our true friend.
8. To identify with the vision and goals of Shepherd, (Proverbs 29:18 and Habakkuk 2:2-3).
9. To share your faith with others, as He commands us, (Matthew 28:19).
